Brewerton on victory course

Becky Brewerton stayed on course for another Ladies European Tour victory with a share of the lead at the Evian Masters.

The 26-year-old, who won the Open de Espana last weekend, began her round level on nine under par with Ai Miyazato and Na-Yeon Choi, and a three-under 69 kept her out in front.

Brewerton was joined on 12 under in Evian-les-Bains by Sweden's Sophie Gustafson, who shot a five-under 67 today, and Korea's In-Kyung Kim after a 68.

The Welshwoman only qualified for the tournament by winning in Spain last week and has now led or co-led for seven consecutive LET rounds.

Miyazato looked set to make it a four-way tie but she bogeyed the last hole to drop to 11 under alongside America's Cristie Kerr, who shot the joint best round of the day with Gustafson.

Karrie Webb from Australia will go into tomorrow's final round two shots off the pace while Helen Alfredsson, Paula Creamer and Choi make up a group on nine under.

World number one Lorena Ochoa is in a tie for 23rd after a 69 kept her nine shots off the pace on three under, the same score as Michelle Wie.
