The Swede could not quite match her opening-round 65, but a 69 still moved her on to 10 under par for the tournament.

Seon Hwa Lee and Ai Miyazato were tied for second on nine under after a 70 and a 68 respectively.

Beth Bader, who had started the day on top of the leaderboard after carding a first-round 64, could only manage a 73 and dropped three shots off the pace.

Angela Stanford and Natalie Gulbis were also on seven under, with six players four shots off the lead.

Michelle Wie shot a 71 to lie five under, while Wales' Becky Morgan and England's Karen Stupples were on three under.

British Open champion Catriona Matthew bounced back from her opening-round 77 with a 68 to sit one over, along with Laura Davies.
