Kaname Yokoo carded an eight-under-par 64 to climb into a one-stroke lead after the third round of the Bridgestone Open on Sunday.

The 37-year-old had a flawless round at the Sodegaura Country Club in which he carded eight birdies, including one on the par five 18th that moved him ahead of Shingo Katayama with a 13-under three-day total of 203.

Katayama carded a three-under 69 and is 12 under for the tournament while Masanori Kobayashi, Kenichi Kuboya, Ryuichi Oda and Yuta Ikeda are all one shot further behind in a share of third place.

Defending champion Azuma Yano endured his worst round so far with a three-over 75 to lie 11 shots off the pace at two under.
