Garcia sticking to own schedule
Sergio Garcia has insisted he will again be doing what suits him - even if Colin Montgomerie would prefer him to be somewhere else.
Garcia has not played in the European Tour's flagship PGA Championship at Wentworth since 2000, but Montgomerie has said: "I feel every European that is qualified for that event should be playing and I will be asking for that personally in my role."
He is also keen for them to appear at Celtic Manor in the Wales Open, an event Garcia has never played, so they are familiar with the course before Ryder Cup week.
But on the eve of the Volvo World Match Play in Spain, Garcia commented: "If it fits in my schedule I will definitely make an effort. It if doesn't, you know, I'll have to play wherever it fits my schedule.
"I haven't looked at it yet, so I can't answer that one. He hasn't talked to me yet, so maybe he doesn't think I'm going to make it."
