Ames comes through in playoffs
Stephen Ames has won his first title since 2007 at the Children's Miracle Network Classic in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
This was after coming through in the playoff to beat Justin Leonard and George McNeill.
Leonard thought he had won in regulation play, but saw a 16-foot put on the final hole hit the rim to force a three-way play-off from which he was eliminated on the first hole.
McNeill lasted only one more hole as his six-foot putt rimmed out to give Ames victory.
During regulation, Ames went round in 64, eight under par, to take the clubhouse lead.
The Canadian had nine birdies and one bogey in his round.
Both McNeill and Leonard carded rounds of 67 to force the play-off.
Leonard had five birdies, but only one on the back nine as he failed to take his chance.
George McNeill began brightly with an eagle on the third hole, but back-to-back bogeys on the 11th and 12th set him back.
McNeill and Leonard had begun the day in a four-way tie for first along with Justin Rose and Marcus Gronberg, but Rose could only manage a round of 68 to slip into a tie for fourth with Nick O'Hern, while Gronberg's round of 69 left him in sixth.
