South Koreans going strong in Australia

South Korean So Yeon Ryu holds a one-stroke lead heading into the weekend at the Australian Women's Open.

Ryu shot a four-under-par 69 in her second round on Saturdayday to be six-under, just ahead of compatriot Hee Kyung So.

There are four players another stroke back at four-under in a tie for third, including American pair Jessica Korda and Stacy Lewis, England's Melissa Reid and Paraguay's Julieta Granada.

Ryu started her round in scintillating fashion, sinking three birdies on the opening six holes.

She had bogeys on seven and 11 but three other birdies on the way home was enough to complete her round at the top of the leaderboard.

Seo, who started the day at two over, struck the round of the day, a seven-under 66.

World number one Yani Tseng, who is aiming for a hat-trick of wins at the tournament she won in 2010 and 2011, is six shots off the lead after a three-over 76.
