Paula Creamer

Creamer leads at Jamie Farr Classic

Paula Creamer fired a six-under-par 65 to take a commanding six-shot lead in the Jamie Farr Classic on Friday.

The 21-year-old from California, who shot a course-record 11-under 60 Thursday, carded seven birdies at this Western Ohio event to move to 17-under-par 125.

South Korean Eun-Hee Ji was second on 11-under 131, while her compatriot HJ Choi and Australia's Rachel Hetherington were tied for third, 10 shots off the lead.

Creamer's only miscue was a bogey at the par-four fourth, cancelling out a birdie two on the par-three second, before six birdies in 10 holes from the seventh.

In her fourth season on tour, Creamer is seeking her third win in 2008, which would tie Hall of Famer Annika Sorenstam for second on the circuit this season.

World number one Lorena Ochoa, who has six victories this year, and Sorenstam are not participating in the tournament this weekend.

Ji, 21, who claimed her first LPGA win at the Wegmans LPGA in June, had two birdies on the front nine and three more after the turn for a five-under 66, while Hetherington recorded four birdies and Choi three to move to seven-under 135.

Janice Moodie of Scotland carded a four-under 67 and is grouped with three others at six-under 136.

Five-time tournament winner Se Ri Pak (69) carded four birdies and overcame two bogeys.

The South Korean, who was voted into the Hall of Fame in 2007 and who beat Morgan Pressel by three strokes here last year, is bunched with five others at five-under 137.

Italy's Giulia Sergas also is at 137 after signing for a 65 to tie Creamer for the lowest round of the day.
