Shaun Marsh, who became a household name in India during the IPL, was awarded for the best batting average in T20s.
Marsh's award was collected by Australian teammate Shane Watson at the inaugural T20 Champions Award in New Delhi. The award has been instituted by BCCI, Cricket Australia and Cricket South Africa to recognise the best of Twenty20 performances in domestic leagues across all Champions League Twenty20 constituent countries.
Marsh is soon expected to be seen in action in India, having been named as Australian opener Phil Jaques replacement for the remaining two Tests of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
The southpaw, who made his way into Indian households with his consistent power-packed knocks for King's XI Punjab, however, notched up 616 runs at an average of 68.44.
After the Test series, Marsh will return to play in the inaugural Champions League Twenty20 with the Western Warriors, who were the runners up in the domestic T20 league in Australia.
