Glock still looking for top spot
Toyota driver Timo Glock is still hopeful of winning a Formula 1 race this season.
The Panasonic Toyota racing team had started the season promisingly and had a few strong shows in qualifying. But the top spot on the podium remains an elusive target.
Brawn GP has surprised many this season while Red Bull are keeping pace with Rubens Barichello and Jenson Button.
Toyota has been left trying to figure out what went wrong. However, that said, team driver Timo Glock is still hopeful that their first win is not too far away, even if he is cautious on predicting just when he thinks it may come.
"I was always careful about talking about the first win," Glock told Autosport. "I always said we had to concentrate on developing the car race by race and that's still my opinion. Sure, at the moment we maybe have slightly lost pace to the top two teams, but there is a chance every race to be up there."
"We have made a good step from 2008 to 2009. Okay, we have different tyres and a different aerodynamic configuration, but I would say that the car is better in every area. It has better stability. You can drive the car more aggressively and not have to pick a window where it is working. Last year, when you lost the car, you lost it quite unpredictably. We improved that already last year and we have made more improvements this year."
