Shakhtar Donetsk 4-1 Partizan Belgrade

Shakhtar Donetsk took control of Europa League Group J with victory over an outclassed Partizan Belgrade at the Olympyiskyi Stadium.

Two goals in each half, with Luiz Adriano, Rodrigues Jadson and Yaroslav Rakitskiy adding to Marko Lomic's 24th-mintue own-goal, ensured victory before a late consolation from Adem Ljajic.

The result leaves Shakhtar top of the standings with two wins from two, while Partizan have now lost twice.

Shakhtar forward Adriano had the first chance of the night, sending his shot just wide from the edge of the penalty area just two minutes in.

Da Silva Willian kept the early pressure on the visitors seconds later, but Partizan goalkeeper Aleksandar Radosavljevic saved comfortably.

Partizan slowed the pace with a series of fouls and mustered an effort of their own 12 minutes in, Lamine Diarra sending a hopeful header over the crossbar.

Darijo Srna, occupying a wide position on the right, was next to try his luck when he tested Radosavljevic from 20 yards.

The breakthrough came after 24 minutes, with Marko Lomic turning the ball into his own net.

Jadson took a corner from the left, with Tomas Hubschman connecting from the centre of the area. Lumic got in the way to block but unluckily saw the ball deflect beyond Radosavljevic.

Luis Fernandinho and Srna both had good chances to make it two in the next five minutes, but the Partizan back-line somehow kept them out.

The Serbs were restricted to a solitary Nenad Djordjevic effort from distance before Adriano claimed the second, after 38 minutes.

Fernadinho was the provider, sending over a cross from the left which the striker prodded home from six yards.

A lively start to the second half brought chances at either end, but Ljajic and Diarra both failed to beat defender Rakitskiy with their efforts.

The home side continued to be more clinical, Jadson making it three in the 54th minute when he turned home another Fernandinho cross.

Adriano could have made it four after an hour's play as it became even more one-sided and it took just six more minutes for Rakitskiy to get one the scoresheet.

Razvan Rat found Rakitskiy six yards out and he finished emphatically.

The Belgrade outfit put together some neat moves in search of a goal and were rewarded by Ljajic's 86th-minute finish following good work from Almani Moreira.
