The dismal Kotla pitch saga continues
The Ferozeshah Kotla pitch became the point of discussion yet again in a post-match press conference in Delhi.

On a pitch, where the Delhi Daredevils struggled to post 114 runs, the opposition team -- Cape Cobras' innings folded for a mere 84.
Speaking after the game, the top-scorer and the Man-of-the-Match Owais Shah (39) of Delhi Daredevils conveyed his dissatisfaction.
"I think the pitch probably played a part but then you have to play in the conditions given to you. However, the condition is same for both the teams. So, you can not really go on complaining about it."
"But at the same time, I feel that it would have been better for a batting line-up like the one we have, had we played on a good track. The things then probably would have been different for us in this tournament. A track which is batting-friendly might have just suited to us a lot better," said the England batsman.
He added, "Having scored a mere 114 and then bowling out the Cobras for just 84 runs, tells a lot about the pitch. And it was for all of us to see how many boundaries could be hit in the entire match."
The Cape Cobras captain Andrew Puttick said, "Twenty20 cricket is all about powerplays and big hits, which was not possible on a wicket like this. That is a pity. But anyway, we have got a big game on Thursday (second semi-final between Cape Cobras and Trinidad & Tobago) and we are looking forward to that."

Meanwhile, Shah defended the dismal show of the Delhi Daredevils in the tournament, saying "We were not consistent enough. We had some good moments but we could not carry on the momentum. The batsmen failed to put enough runs on the board against the Bangalore Royal Challengers and that cost us the semifinal berth."
Shah was all praise for the bowlers, who performed well, even without their experienced campaigner Glenn McGrath and Ashish Nehra.
"Defending a small total, we started off our bowling well. The fact that we managed to take early wickets and then continued with our disciplined bowling was creditable."
But when Shah was asked the reason for Virender Sehwag, McGrath and Nehra's absence from the playing XI, he, clarified that none of them were injured and simply said, "You will have to ask the captain the reason."
