Real Madrid fans are lobbying for their club to sign Cesc Fabregas and David Silva in the summer.

The Los Merengues were dumped out of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night following a 1-1 home draw against Olympique Lyonnais and the fans are urging the club to scout for potential superstar signings to ensure the club achieve European glory next season.

With names like Bayern Munich's Franck Ribery, Sevilla's Jesus Navas and Manchester United's Wayne Rooney being touted as the likely reinforcements, Arsenal's Fabregas and Valencia's Silva have emerged as the fans' favourites to join their faltering side.

In a poll done by Marca, the five names mentioned along with Spanish ace David Villa were selected as fans voted for the player they fancied most.

Silva topped the poll with 26.6% of the votes while Fabregas came in second with 21.8%.

With Manuel Pellegrini's position as head coach under threat following the club's European exit, it could be an interesting summer with an influx of players and even possibly a new coach.
