Real's Higuain to be sold in summer

Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain is set to exit the Bernabeu in the summer in order to make way for another Galactico.

The Spanish giants have been thrown into a tizzy after their Champions League exit at the hands of Lyon last week.

President Florentino Perez has promised to splash even more cash in order to bring more quality to the beleaguered club. According to a report in Don Balon, there is some politics at play too.

In the notoriously murky waters of Spanish football, there always seems to be an ulterior motive for every move. Perez apparently wants to sell Higuain simply because the Agrentenian was signed by former president Ramon Calderon.

Another theory doing the rounds is that Higuain must leave to accommodate Cristiano Ronaldo. There have been reports of dressing room disharmony between the two in the wake of the Champions League exit - although this has been strenuoulsy denied by both players.

Whatever the case may be, Higuain's sale would net Madrid something in the region of €40 million - which could be used to bring over yet another mega-star to the Bernabeu.
