A blast from the past
The European Grand Prix kicks off at the new Valencia track and espnstar.com takes you back on its past conquerors.

With the race having been distributed to a number of countries such as Belgium, France and most recently in Germany in the Nürburgring circuit until 2006, the showpiece event in the European calendar now makes its debut in the Valencia, Spain this weekend.
After a three week sojourn, the F1 action takes precedence once again with McLaren prodigy Lewis Hamilton currently leading the driver’s standings with 62 points ahead of Ferrari rivals Kimi Räikkönen and Felipe Massa, who are placed second and third with 57 and 54 points respectively.
