Red Bull remain upbeat
Red Bull insist Mark Webber's injury-enforced absence will not have too much of an impact on their winter testing programme.
Webber will be out of action until the new year after he broke his leg when a car crashed into his mountain bike during a charity event in his native Australia. The 32-year-old has undergone surgery to correct the break, ruling him out of pre-season testing, but his team remain confident he will be on the starting grid come the season opener in March.
In the meantime, Red Bull Racing team boss Christian Horner says Sebastian Vettel and Sebastien Buemi will be behind the wheel for the final test of the year in Jerez.
"We planned to do only the second Jerez test and there we will have Buemi on the first day and Vettel on the next days in the car," Horner told Autosport.
"If there is anything positive in Mark's accident it is the timing."
Horner also dismissed out of hand the possibility that David Coulthard could briefly come out of retirement during testing.
"No, DC at the moment has a lot of other duties," he added.
