Force India to start late

Force India is only set to resume testing just before the start of the 2009 Formula One season according to reports.

Giancarlo Fisichella and Adrian Sutil have yet to get into the thick of action as the team decided to skip last week's test in Jerez.

Unlike Force India who are likely to be back on track before March following the launch of their VJM02 car, most of the F1 teams will resume testing duties in late January

According to reports from Sky Sports, Sutil admitted that such a late start is certainly not ideal for their preparations for next season expecially with the ban on in-season testing also coming into effect.

"That's for sure a problem," the German said.

"But I can't change it. And if I'm honest, it's better to start in March with a good car than to test in February with a bad one.

"Every one in our team is very positive about the partnership," he said. "We all believe that 2009 will bring us up to the midfield and that we will score points in 2009."

The team had a dismal last season finishing last in the Constructors' Championship and failed pick up a single point.

The 2009 season starts with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne on March 29.
