Raikkonen quit rumours return

Reports suggest former world champion Kimi Raikkonen may quit Formula One for rally racing at the end of the season.

"Kimi doesn't talk about Formula One anymore. He just talks about rally," a friend of Raikkonen was quoted as saying in the sports magazine Veikkaaja.

The 29-year-old is scheduled to compete in the classic Finnish rally in Jyvaskyla later this month, driving an Abarth Grande Punto S2000.

The Finn recently rubbished reports that he was set to quit Formula One, but rumours to the contrary still persist.

"If I wasn't interested in Formula One, I wouldn't be here - I'm still here," he said.

"For the future, I've always said I still have next year, and during next year I'll see different options and see what will happen in the future."

Raikkonen won the Formula One world title in 2007 for Ferrari, but was not able to emulate that form last year and has so far struggled in the current campaign with a third-place finish his best result thus far.
