The Force India Timeline
After Force India's Giancarlo Fisichella finished second at the Belgian GP, we take a look at the team's performance so far.
Force India was formed in October 2007. Vijay Mallya-led consortium and Michiel Mol bought the Spyker F1 team for € 88 million.
The team was originally founded in 1991 as Jordan Grand Prix.
The Silverstone-based team was bought by the Midland group in 2005 and was renamed Midland F1 Racing in 2006.
It was then sold to Spykar Cars in the 2006 season end.
It came to be known as Force India after the Indian business tycoon bought it.
