Massa moves nearer full recovery

Felipe Massa has taken another big step towards his Formula One comeback by taking part in a charity karting event in Brazil.

The 28-year-old has been out of action since July when he suffered a fractured skull during qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Massa, along with former Ferrari drivers Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello, took part in the "International Challenge of the Stars" - an event that raises money for local charities - in Florianapolis.

The opening leg of the race was won by Schumacher with Force India's Vitantonio Liuzzi second. Massa started 11th on the grid, but finished third after beating Renault test driver Lucas di Grassi on the final lap.

A host of F1 stars including Christian Fittipaldi, Nelson Piquet, Antonio Pizzonia, Enrique Bernoldi, Tarso Marques, Ricardo Zonta and Luciano Burti took part in the event which was held over the weekend.
