Lotus close to naming drivers
Lotus F1 team boss Tony Fernandes has revealed that four drivers remain in the running for the team's first season in Formula One.
Lotus will join the Formula One grid next season, and although preparations are well underway with regards to their 2010 challenger, at present their driver line-up is little more than speculation.
Fernandes, who recently revealed that the team had already signed one driver but refused to name him, has now stated that there are four candidates from which the team much choose.
"Have to decide on four drivers for two seats," he said on his twitter page earlier this week.
And although Fernandes did not elaborate, those four drivers are believed to be Jarno Trulli, Kamui Kobayashi, Takuma Sato and also former F1 world champion Jacques Villeneuve.
Earlier this week, Villeneuve visited Lotus's UK headquarters, spending a day touring the team's facilities.
"Jacques' visit is an honour for Lotus and Lotus is a team," CEO of Group Lotus Dany Bahar said.
"Our people are a blend of talent and expertise combined with passion for our brand. Our highlights are theirs, so this is a special day for us all."
