The double-F combination of Ferrari and Fernando Alonso will be lethal in 2010 Formula One season, predicts Karun Chandhok.

Uncertainties have always been the norm, as far as Formula One season go. This season more than ever, what with new points system, exciting partnerships and face-changing rules, unpredictability will have its say again. But, one thing is for certain. Fernando Alonso in his Prancing Horse will gallop to the chequered flag, feels Indian GP racer Karun Chandhok.

In an exclusive chat with MobileESPN, the 26-year-old racer has hand-picked the combination of Ferrari and the double world champion Alonso as the duo to beat this season. The racer is already impressed with the speed shown by the big guns during the pre-season testing. "McLaren are back in form and so are Ferrari, but the combination of Ferrari and Fernando Alonso would be very tough to beat."

And, Chandhok is excited about the Michael Schumacher factor as well and believes the returning seven-time champion will make an impact for sure. "Mercedes and Schumacher have not shown their full hand and can spring a surprise."

A two-time GP2 winner, Chandhok, also added Force India team will be a team to reckon with in the upcoming season. "They had a good last season, especially in the second half, their car was tailor-made for the low drag, and high speeds circuits, like Monza and Spa. Early indications are that they have very good aero efficiency and straight-line speeds and are up for another competitive season."

When asked about the reports of signing a contract with Stefan GP for the 2010 season. Chandhok said, "No, I can categorically say that I have not signed a contract to race with Stefan GP. I have been having discussions with them much the same way I have been with USF1 and Campos. But there is a difference between discussions and signing a contract."

Formula One is the final frontier for every driver and it's no different in Chandhok's case. He is keenly awaiting a breakthrough before the scheduled home Grand Prix next year.

"It's never easy to break into F1, but I think having new teams means more seats available and more opportunities. There are two or three seats still to be filled by some teams for the season, and that happens to be with the teams I have been talking to for some time," the Chennai-based driver said.

The 26-year-old added, " I am still hanging on to a possibility that we can do something in F1, if it doesn't work out this year, my aim would to be on the grid for 2011 in time for the Indian GP."
