iSport continue to dominate

In round one of the first GP2 Asia race of 2010 it was all iSport International in Abu Dhabi.

They extended their lead in the standings by claiming the top two positions.

With the victory at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, British rookie Oliver Turvey got his first career GP2 Asia win. He beat out his fellow iSport International teammate Davide Valsecchi, who took second.

Turvey got off to a fantastic start, as he did not take much time to overtake Charles Pic, who started with the pole position. Soon after, Turvey was able to grab a fairly comfortable lead with only his other teammate to contend with.

Behind the iSport combination was ART Grand Prix's Jules Bianchi followed by Arden's Javier Villa. It was also a good showing for DPR as both Giacomo Ricci and Michael Herck finished fifth and seventh, respectively.

Falling out of the top 10 was the Frenchman Pic - surely a disappointment considering his starting position. Even so, his Arden team found themselves in sixth place in the standings after the race.

The Abu Dhabi feature just continued the domination of iSport this season on both a team and individual front. With the top two positions, iSport secured an even bigger lead in the overall standings as they now lead Super Nova Racing by 28 points. Valsecchi's second place finish now gives him 28 points in the driver's standings - doubling the next closest driver who happens to be his teammate, Oliver Turvey.
