In a tight race for the pole in the GP2 Asia Series race in Bahrain, ART's Jules Bianchi snatched the pole over Davide Valsecchi.

In a final push with 10 seconds remaining, Bianchi was able to better his laptime and in doing so, overtook iSport's Valsecchi by just 0.003 seconds. The pole was the first for the Frenchman in his GP2 Asia Series career.

Arden's Javier Villa finished in third position with Luca Filippi and Alvaro Parente rounding out the rest of the top five, respectively.
