Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel retained their Nations Cup title, beating Tom Kristensen and Mattias Ekstrom.

The showdown went to a tie-breaker after seven-times F1 champion Schumacher had beaten eight-times Le Mans 24 Hours winner Kristensen by just 0.1729secs in the first race in the RoC buggy.

Then Ekstrom, two-time DTM champion, pipped Red Bull Racing driver Vettel in an X-Bow before Schumacher gained his revenge for defeat in last year's Champion of Champions final to the Swede.

Germany beat Ireland and one of the two British teams, involving David Coulthard and Jason Plato, en route to the final.

As for Ekstrom and Kristensen, they defeated France and the second British pairing of Jenson Button and Andy Priaulx.
