Bolt involved in car accident

World 100 and 200-metre record holder Usain Bolt escaped serious injury after a car accident in Jamica.

Police confirmed the 22-year-old and his female passenger were taken to hospital in Spanish Town, although neither was seriously hurt.

According to reports, Bolt was driving a BMW M3 when it went off the rain-soaked road.

The track star's manager, Norman Peart, revealed that Bolt was unhurt except for thorns on his feet after he exited his vehicle.

"We are very relieved he's OK. Everybody is fine," said Peart on the BBC website.

Bolt won gold in the men's 100m and 200m in world record times at last year's Olympic Games in Beijing.

He also triumphed in the 4x100m relay with Jamaica.
