Kenyan legend Paul Tergat will compete at the inaugural Rock 'n' Roll Seattle Marathon and Half Marathon next month.

The 39-year-old will race over the shorter distance, at which he is a former world record holder, at the event on Saturday, June 27.

"I'm excited to be part of the first Rock 'n' Roll event in Seattle," said Tergat, who in March won the Lake Biwa Marathon in Japan with a time of two hours 10 minutes 22 seconds.

"I'm very happy with my races in 2009 and I'm hoping that will continue at the end of next month."
