Indian boxer Akhil Kumar is fit and raring to go. The fracture in the left-wrist has healed completely in just 24 hours thanks to Delhi's Dr. Jatin Choudhary, who had earlier treated Yuvraj Singh, Sania Mirza and S Sreesanth.

Many treatments

Akhil who had a hairline fracture for last two months had to miss the ongoing Asian Championship in China because of the injury. At Dr. Jatin's clinic he underwent painful acupuncture treatment, which was followed by electromagnetic and ultrasonic treatment apart from the shock therapy.

"Akhil came to me on Monday morning and the X-ray showed hairline fracture in his left wrist. We made him undergo the treatment programme and by the evening his pain in the wrist disappeared. Now after some muscle strengthening exercise the boxer is fit to play," Dr. Choudhary told SportsCenter.

Can't wait to wear the gloves

"I should have come to the doctor before. In just one-day my pain is completely gone, and now I want to get into the ring as soon as possible," the boxer told SportsCenter.

Akhil sustained the injury during practice in NIS Patiala on April 10th and he was undergoing treatment under the NIS doctor itself. During the trial on April 25th he was declared unfit for inclusion in the India's squad for Asian Championship.

Aim Milan

The boxer who is flying to China tonight to witness the new format of the game and support is fellow boxers is now aiming for World Championship in Milan later this year. Akhil said; "that is my target. I want to be in top form in the World Championship and now I am looking to strengthen my muscles.

No change in style

The treatment also ensured that Akhil would not have to change anything in his boxing style because of the injury. "I have played and reached the quarter-finals of the Olympics despite surgery to my right wrist so I am quite sure that after this wonderful treatment I would not have to inflict any change in my technique," said the 27-year-old boxer.
