Kotelnik ready to school 'Child Khan'

Kotelnik ready to school 'Child Khan'

Andreas Kotelnik blasted Amir Khan as 'a little boy'in their pre-match hype.

Bolton bomber Khan fights for a world title for the first time at the O2 Arena on June 27, live on Sky Box Office.

Ukrainian Kotelnik picked up the WBA title by defeating Welshman Gavin Rees, and says he has no intentions of relinquishing the strap to Khan.

The 31-year-old has only two defeats on his record, both close losses against Junior Witter and Souleymane M'Baye, and he believes Khan should not even be in the same ring.

"What has Khan done apart from beating up an old man in Marco Antonio Barrera and getting knocked out by someone no one had heard of?" said Kotelnik.

"Everyone is talking about him like he's some kind of pound-for-pound legend, but they won't be after I've knocked him out for the second time in his career.

"To be honest, he shouldn't really be in the same ring as me, because I am an established world champion and he is just a child who has had a couple of lucky wins.

"He's a little boy and I am going to take him back to school on June 27 and give him a painful lesson.

"I've got plenty of respect for him for taking the fight - because he's going to be in for a miserable night. It's going to be fun and easy for me because Khan is nothing special at all.

"He's got a decent punch, but I took on a supposed banger in my last fight and I took his shots all night long and still beat him."

Kotelnik also mentioned Khan's shock 54-second KO by Breidis Prescott, his only professional defeat.

"I can't really see the fight going beyond six rounds, and if I land early then I'll knock him out even quicker than Prescott did, and that only took 54 seconds.

"Everyone in Britain is desperate for another world champion, but they will be disappointed on June 27 when they see their hero being defeated.

"When I came to the UK to fight Gavin Rees, people thought I was going to be a soft touch, but I knocked him out and I'll do the same to Khan."
