Bolt defies weather to shine

Usain Bolt ran a tremendous time of 19.59 seconds in atrocious conditions to win the 200 metres at the Athletissima.

The Olympic champion and world record holder for the distance defied the wind and rain at the Swiss meeting as he recorded his second fastest performance.

Bolt showed that in better conditions he will be capable of approaching the 19.30sec mark with which he snatched away Michael Johnson's previous record in Beijing last August.

The 22-year-old Jamaican just missed the year's world best of 19.59sec set by his arch-rival Tyson Gay in New York at the end of May.

Cuban Dayron Robles, the Olympic 110m hurdles gold medallist, continued his unbeaten summer, winning in a time of 13.18sec.

European number one Andy Turner finished fifth, posting a mark of 13.55sec in his last race before this weekend's Aviva World trials in Birmingham.
