Gold-medal trio back in action
Ben Williams, Katarina Thompson and Jodie Williams will return to action at the European Under-20 Championships.
The trio, who were all gold medallists at last week's IAAF World Youth Championships, have been chosen for the Aviva Great Britain team which will compete in Novi Sad, Serbia from July 23-26.
City of Stoke athlete Ben Williams dominated the triple jump in Bressanone, while Liverpool Harrier Thompson produced a massive score to win the heptathlon.
Jodie Williams, 15, wrote her name in the history books by becoming the first girl ever to win both 100 metres and 200m titles.
She has been chosen for the 4x100m relay squad, her namesake will contest his speciality triple jump and Thompson has been given permission to make a late decision on what events she will enter. She has already achieved the qualification standards for high jump and long jump and the decision will be made by her performance team later this week.
