Leipheimer teams up with Armstrong

Levi Leipheimer has reportedly joined Lance Armstrong's Radio Shack team, which is to launch in 2010.

The 35-year-old American moves from Astana - where seven-time Tour de France champion Armstrong made his comeback this season - and believes his new squad will be highly competitive next year.

"We will definitely have a strong team," he said on www.cyclingnews.com.

"We will see a lot of riders from Astana come over and one or two faces from the Discovery team too.

"Not everyone (from Astana) will go to Radio Shack but a lot will and we won the team time trial (at the 2009 Tour de France); it shows the strength of the team and if you have aspirations and dreams of winning the Tour then you need to be on a team that strong."

Leipheimer will in 2010 will be seeking a fourth successive Tour of California title.
