Victorious Gay fails to dazzle
Tyson Gay claimed another 100metres victory but failed to dip under 10 seconds at the Kawasaki Grand Prix meeting in Japan.
Gay set a new United States record of 9.69 seconds on Sunday but today could only manage a time of 10.13secs, despite having the wind at his back.
"I didn't get the time I wanted," Gay told reporters. "They said it was a positive wind but it felt more like a headwind because I felt the wind blowing in my face."
Gay, whose performance in the Shanghai Grand Prix on Sunday saw him match the time which won Usain Bolt last year's Olympic 100m title, still has another race to complete his Far East tour.
The former world champion will compete at the Daegu Grand Prix in South Korea this weekend.
