Jodie Henry retires from swimming

Former triple Olympic champion Jodie Henry has confirmed her retirement from swimming.

The Australian won gold medals - all in world record time - in the 100metres freestyle, 4x100m freestyle relay and 4x100m medley relay - at the Athens Games in 2004.

The 25-year-old was also crowned 100m freestyle world champion a year later and was a four-time Commonwealth champion over the 2002 and 2006 Games.

However, Henry failed to compete at the 2008 Olympics after a pelvic injury prevented her from attempting to qualify and this heralded the Queenslander's exit from the sport which was confirmed today.
