Slingers 74-86 KL Dragons

KL Dragons brought a major upset to the Singaporeans when they beat the Slingers at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

KL Dragons coming from their 63 - 73 loss against the Philippine Patriots, found their game today to bring down the Slingers in a action-packed match. The Singapore Slingers who were previously first in the standings table, are now second place behind Philippine Patriots.

KL Dragons changed their usual starting lineup, sending in Jamal Brown, Roel Hugnatan, Fhadzmir Bandaying, Guganeswaran and Chris Daniel, while Singapore Slingers sent in top scorers Michael LeBlanc and Kyle Jeffers, as well as Marcus Ng, Al Vergara and Pathman Matialakan.

KL Dragons Jamal Brown lost the jumpball to Singapore Slingers' Kyle Jeffers, but it was KL Dragons' Roel Hugnatan who opened the scoring for the match after a turnover by Slingers' Michael LeBlanc.

Singapore Slingers pushed hard in the first quarter, but the KL Dragons emerged with a 1-point lead, ending the quarter 19 - 20. KL Dragons continued to dominate the court and further increased their lead in the second quarter and by half time were 9 points ahead of the Slingers, ending the quarter 34 - 43.

The KL Dragons continued to power on and further strengthen their lead to 15 points ending the third quarter 53 - 68. In the fourth quarter, Singapore Slingers put up a tough fight, bringing down the KL Dragons from a 20-point lead to just 12 points, ending the match 74 - 86.

KL Dragons Rudy Lingganay was the top scorer with 21 points followed closely by Chris Daniel with 20 personal points and Jamal Brown with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Singapore Slingers' Hong Wei Jian took the lead with 18 personal points, followed by imports Michael LeBlanc with 13 points and Kyle Jeffers with 12 points and 16 rebounds.
