Satria Muda BritAma narrowly edged out the Thailand Tigers at The Britama Arena, Jakarta, Indonesia.
Satria Muda BritAma first met with the Thailand Tigers on 18 October at the Nimibutr National Stadium, Thailand. Although Satria Muda BritAma lead after the first quarter, Thailand Tigers put up a tough fight and took the lead in the second and third quarters, but it was Satria Muda BritAma who won the match 78 - 75 after picking up the pace in the fourth quarter.
Today saw Satria Muda BritAma take control of the game, leading Thailand Tigers throughout the four quarters.
Satria Muda BritAma started the match with top scorer Alexander Hartman, Nakiea Miller, Christian Sitepu, Youbel Sondakh and Rensy Bajar, whereasThailand Tigers sent Chaz Briggs, Ikenna Nwankwo, Attaporn Lertmalaiporn, Piyapong Piroon and Axel Doruelo.
Chaz Briggs won the jumpball against Nakiea Miller and Axel Doruelo opened the match with a 3-pointer. Satria Muda BritAma's Nakiea Miller quickly responded with a 3-pointer, and soon team mates Alexander Hartman and Youbel Sondakh followed suite and at the end of the first quarter, Satria Muda BritAma were leading 21 - 16 against Thailand Tigers.
Satria Muda BritAma, spurred on by the first quarter lead, continued to increase the gap, and increased their lead to 16 points, ending 39 - 23. Thailand Tigers put up a tough fight in the third quarter, reducing Satria Muda BritAma's lead to just 10 points, and this continued in the fourth quarter, and with 31 seconds left on the clock, Thailand Tigers were just two points behind Satria Muda BritAma.
Satria Muda BritAma, not wanting to lose to Thailand Tigers in the final seconds of the match, picked up the pace and pulled thru to win the match 77 - 71 at the final buzzer.
Satria Muda BritAma's Nakiea Miller lead the team with 27 personal points and 18 rebounds, followed by Alexander Hartman with 19 points and Faizal Achmad with 15 points.
Thailand Tigers Ratdech Kruatiwa took the lead for the first time with 16 personal points, leading team mate Ikenna Nwankwo with 14 points and 20 rebounds, followed by Chaz Briggs with 13 points.
