Salita: I'll beat "Chinny" Khan

Dmitriy Salita predicted victory over Amir Khan on Saturday night after declaring to be delighted with preparations.

The New York-based fighter will put his unbeaten record on the line when he challenges Khan for the WBA light-welterweight title.

Salita has spent much of his career at a lower level than his rival but the 27-year-old believes he is ready to take the title.

"Amir has my belt. I have trained very hard and I am prepared to take it. I am going to do whatever is necessary to bring it back home," he told Sky Sports News.

"I always knew that this moment would come more so than any other fight, I kind of know what I am getting myself into so I feel very calm about it and I have put in the work.

"In the locker room 20 minutes before the fight I am going to have no doubts about by preparations.

"As I see it Amir's camp has been unstable with Freddie not being there, travelling to Vegas to train. It's fun - but it's not the ideal training atmosphere.

"Even if he is ready he is going to have a lot of trouble but even more so if he hasn't taken this fight seriously.

"He is a chinny guy, just the way he is built, there is nothing that he can do about it. He has made adjustments and obviously I watch tape and see what it is.

"I heard that Freddie said we are going to go hook for hook and that would be great, lets go hook for hook.

"It would be my lifetime achievement award to this point. I always imagined that this moment would come and I feel very confident that I will become world champion.

"It has been a lot of hard work and I expect a tough fight so it is going to mean the world to me and I have prepared myself to do what is necessary to come back as the winner."
