DeGale targets sheepish Groves

James DeGale hopes to silence his former amateur foe George Groves' "bleating" by beating him in April.

The 2008 Olympic middleweight champion makes his long-awaited debut as a professional in London on Saturday when he meets Matthew Barr in his sixth paid fight at Wembley Arena.

But already DeGale has his eyes on a potential fight with Groves.

David Haye's promotional company claim they have offered £50,000 for DeGale to meet his former amateur rival on April 3 in Manchester.

The former Dale Youth ABC stablemates are seemingly on a collision course somewhere down the line as their public row continues to simmer.

And DeGale told The Sun: "I don't like him one bit. He beat me in the amateurs but it was me who went to Beijing and won my gold. He has not stopped bleating about it."
