"It's a good opportunity for me to showcase my skills as a captain. It wouldn't be that tough...looking forward to it," he told reporters.

On the prospect of facing mysterious Sri Lankan spinner Ajantha Mendis, Rohit Sharma said, "He is a good bowler no doubt but we are not thinking whether Mendis is playing or Murali (Muttiah Muralitharan). We are focusing on our strength, not theirs."

Asked if motivation would be a problem since the selectors have already picked the Indian team for the Test series against the Lankans, Rohit said, "We cannot do anything about things that are not in our control. We have been selected to play for BPXI and we'll play."

Rohit pointed out he had scored a century against the visiting Australian side last year in a practice game but unfortunately did not get selected.
