Leonardo focused on own fate

AC Milan coach Leonardo is more interested in his team's performance than the outcome of the match between Juventus and Inter.

Third-place Juventus face Inter in a crucial D'erby' on Saturday in match that could have ramifications of the title race.

But Leonardo, whose Milan lie second and seven points behind Inter, prefers to concentrate on his team.

Speaking ahead of this weekend's match against Sampdoria, Leonardo said: "The only thing that will be decisive is our own play and continuing doing what we are doing."

He then reflected on his own situation, which has calmed down somewhat thanks to an unbeaten run that stretches back to late September.

At one point it looked as if Milan would sack Leonardo after a terrible start to season. However, the Brazilian has really turned things around with a new attacking brand of football.

"The President calls in the most difficult moments. At the beginning of the season he called every two or three days. Today it's much less.

"He is satisfied and has other things to think about. There is an agreed line shared by everyone at the club and things are going well. But we are always very close."
