Capello frets over Champions League
Fabio Capello fears that England players may suffer psychologically if they are on the losing side in the Champions League final.
The climax of Europe's top club competition takes place in Madrid on May 22, just three weeks before England kick off their World Cup campaign in South Africa.
English teams have been losing finalists in the Champions League for the last four years - Arsenal in 2006 followed by Liverpool, Chelsea and last season Manchester United - and Capello is concerned about having to try to invigorate disappointed players for the World Cup.
The England head coach said: "I hope English teams will play in the final of the Champions League. If they win they will be happy and could be important psychologically for the players.
"But if they have lost it will not be easy to recover psychologically and physically."
Capello believes England have it in them to go all the way if they can handle the pressure of the big occasion.
He added: "It will not be easy because every game when you have to play at World Cup is different - the pressure and the psychology is different.
"Can we win it? Yes, but I have always said that if we want to arrive at the final we have to beat all the teams and first we have to play the three games in the group.
"I respect all the teams but the first game is the most important game, when we will play against the USA."
