Ferriol handed one-match ban

Catalans Dragons prop David Ferriol will miss France's Gillette Four Nations match against New Zealand on Saturday through suspension.

The front rower was placed on report for striking England loose forward Kevin Sinfield in the 72nd minute of last Friday's 34-12 defeat at Doncaster and was today given a one-match ban by the tournament's match review panel.

Ferriol will be available for France's final group game against Australia in Paris on November 7, although the French Federation have until 11am tomorrow to appeal his ban.

Centre Jean Philippe Baille is free to face the Kiwis after the match review panel decided that his sending-off for a high tackle on England scrum-half Richard Myler was sufficient punishment.

Baile, the team's vice-captain, was shown a red card by New Zealand referee Leon Williamson just a minute from the end of the match at the Keepmoat Stadium.
