Kaino and Smith return for All Blacks

Jerome Kaino and Conrad Smith have been recalled to the New Zealand starting line-up ahead of their re-match against France.

Smith has recovered from his hamstring strain to take his place at centre alongside his Wellington and Hurricanes team-mate Ma'a Nonu, forcing Isaia Toeava, who had mixed night last Saturday in Dunedin, to the bench.

Kaino's return from a knee injury on the blindside will provide some much-needed experience and aggression to the loose forward trio that was outplayed by their French counter-parts in the 27-22 loss at Carisbrook.

It is another new-look combination in the back row with Kieran Read shifting from the blindside to number eight in place of the under-performing Liam Messam, while Tanerau Latimer steps up to replace Adam Thomson, who has a broken hand, for his first start after making his debut last weekend.

In the front row Keven Mealamu takes over at hooker for Andrew Hore who has a rib cartilage injury.

The two players called into the All Blacks earlier this week, Waikato and Chiefs rake Aled de Malmanche and Canterbury and Crusaders flanker George Whitelock are on the bench.

Henry said: "The return of Jerome and Conrad from injury will be a boost for the guys.

"The team was disappointed with the way they played in last weekend's loss to France and are looking forward to making big improvements this week."]
