Lomu keen to get started
New Zealand great Jonah Lomu cannot wait to resume his playing career after signing a deal with French club Marseille Vitrolles.
Lomu, 34, completed his move to the third-division amateur club in the south of France last night.
The former All Blacks winger has not played competitive rugby since the back-end of 2006 but feels fit and is looking forward to a new challenge.
"If I didn't feel capable of returning, I wouldn't have done it," Lomu said.
"I want to bring my know-how and experience to this club. I am here for one season. We will see after that."
Lomu became a global phenomenon after starring for the All Blacks at the 1995 World Cup.
He made 63 appearances for his country before he encountered kidney problems.
He had a kidney transplant in July 2004, and played for Cardiff Blues and New Zealand side North Harbour in the subsequent three seasons.
Marseille Vitrolles' season begins on September 22.
