Bhupathi and Knowles fall short
Bob and Mike Bryan came from a set down to beat Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles in the Australian Open men's doubles final.
Seeded two, the Bryans, who also won in Melbourne in 2006 and 2007, edged past India's Bhupati and the Bahamas' Knowles 2-6 7-5 6-0 inside the Rod Laver Arena, to claim their seventh major title together.
Bhupathi and Knowles broke twice to move into a 1-0 set lead after just 27 minutes.
However, the second set was much closer until in the 12th game Knowles was broken and the Bryans sent the contest into a decider.
The Americans went on to win the next six games without reply to become Australian Open champions once again.
