Seppi makes it easy for Murray
Top seed Andy Murray began his quest to become the first British champion at Queen's Club since Bunny Austin in 1938.
Murray began with a comprehensive 6-1 6-4 victory over Italy's Andreas Seppi in the second round.
Murray, the world number three, made an impressive start to his grass court season, taking just under an hour to earn a meeting with Spain's Guillermo Garcia-Lopez for a place in the quarter-finals.
Meanwhile, Lleyton Hewitt set up a third round showdown with fellow four-time winner Andy Roddick after coming back to defeat rising Portuguese star Frederico Gil.
Hewitt, who takes a 6-4 head-to-head lead over Roddick into their 11th career meeting, lost the first set against Gil before claiming a 3-6 6-2 6-2 victory.
Third seed Gilles Simon overcame a tough test against junior Wimbledon champion Grigor Dimitrov. Simon needed two tie-breaks before emerging with a 7-6 7-6 victory against the teenager from Bulgaria.
Meanwhile, fourth seed Gael Monfils withdrew from the tournament due to a left wrist injury he suffered during his second round win against Andrey Golubev, handing Belgian Steve Darcis a walkover into the quarter-finals.
Seventh seed Marat Safin was also forced to withdrew due to a back injury. The Russian was replaced in the draw by lucky loser Rik De Voest.
