In the wake of recent arrests of two admirers of Sania, security at Sania's Banjara Hills bungalow in Hyderabad has been tightened for the ceremony.

Speaking exclusively to espnstar.com, Sania's father, Imran Mirza, said that the preparations were all in place for the big occasion for the family today.

"Sania is very happy since it's the biggest day of her life," he said, adding that the ceremony will be held at their residence. "We have been keeping busy with the preparations for the event, just like anyone would do for their daughter's engagement.

"It will all be a private family affair with close friends."

While all things are in place, the issue of crazy fans might be a worrying aspect during the engagement.

A young civil engineer from Bangalore, Mohammad Ashraf, had turned up at the home of the player three days ago and threatened to kill himself if she did not marry him.

He also demanded that her engagement with Sohrab be cancelled.

Sohrab, meanwhile, is the son of Adil Mirza and Noora Begum, who own Universal Bakers chain in Hyderabad.

An alarmed Imran Mirza called the police who took him into custody.

In his complaint to the police, he said that the youth had also been sending text messages and making threatening calls to his daughter for some time.

In another incident in these two days, Ajay Singh Yadav was detained after professing his love for Sania. He told the police that he had been in love with Mirza for five years and wanted to marry her.

Also, the Andhra Pradesh state government had last month found that a man had secured a white ration card, meant for people living below the poverty line, showing Sania Mirza as his wife.

But Imran Nazir ruled out any such spoilsport. "Today is a very big day for us. All those incidents are past and we would rather not remember them. Such things don't matter."
