Peer pressure continues at Tashkent
Second seed Shahar Peer will take on home favourite Akgul Amanmuradova in Sunday's final of the Tashkent Open in Uzbekistan.
Israeli Peer took one hour and 57 minutes to claim a straight-sets victory over Olga Govortsova of Belarus which was anything but straightforward, coming through 7-6 (7-5) 6-2.
Amanmuradova is ranked 113 in the world but overcame world number 55 Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan on Saturday 6-4 7-6 (7-3) to give herself a chance of winning a first ever WTA Tour title.
