Monaco sets up Montanes final

Juan Monaco will face Albert Montanes in the final at the BCR Open Romania in Bucharest.

The pair came through the semi-finals in contrasting fashions, with third seed Monaco easing past Simon Greul 6-4 6-3 to reach his third ATP Tour final of the year.

Spaniard Montanes, though, had a much tougher time against compatriot Santiago Ventura, dropping the first set before hitting back to beat the qualifier 4-6 6-4 6-1.

Monaco, ranked 37 in the world, has lost his last four finals and he is hoping for a change of fortune in the Romanian capital.

"It will be my third final of the year and I hope that it will be the lucky one," he told www.atpworldtour.com. "In Argentina we say the third one is the lucky one so we'll see what happens."

Fifth seed Montanes, who was a beaten finalist in Bucharest in 2001, won the only previous meeting between the pair in Chile three years ago.
