Querrey pulls USA level
Sam Querrey posted a key singles win as the United States pulled level with Spain at the World Team Championship in Dusseldorf.
Nicolas Almagro had earlier given Spain the edge in the Blue Group clash as he beat Robby Ginepri 6-3 5-7 7-6 (7/4), but Querrey ensured the tie was square at 1-1 heading into tomorrow's deciding doubles rubber as he defeated Daniel Gimeno-Traver 6-3 6-4.
Elsewhere in the Red Group, Jan Hajek hammered Peter Luczak 6-1 6-2 as the Czech Republic established a 1-0 lead over Australia.
In the Blue Group, Germany opened up a 1-0 lead over Argentina courtesy of Philipp Kohlschreiber's 6-3 6-4 triumph over Horacio Zeballos, while France and Serbia are level at 1-1.
Paul-Henri Mathieu defeated Dusan Lajovic 6-2 6-3 to hand the French the advantage in the tie but Viktor Troicki made sure a decider would be required as he beat Jeremy Chardy 6-4 6-2.
