Victorious Bryans equal doubles record

Twins Bob and Mike Bryan made history as they claimed an 11th Grand Slam title by winning the men's doubles at Wimbledon.

In beating Robert Lindstedt and Horia Tecau 6-3 6-4 7-6 (7/2), the Americans equalled Todd Woodbridge and Mark Woodforde's record of 11 titles as a team in the Open era.

The Bryans had won two epic matches en route to the final but another marathon never looked likely on Centre Court on Saturday.

Lindstedt and Tecau, also beaten in last year's final, immediately fell behind as the Bryans broke at the first attempt and the Swedish-Romanian pairing were unable to recover in the first set as the Bryans got their big serves firing.

The set was over in just 27 minutes and the advantage turned into a two-set one just as the hour mark was reached, the Bryans failing to offer their opponents even a break point.

The eighth seeds offered more resistance in the third but still could not force a break point.

Their hopes were duly ended in the tie-break as the Bryans won the last five points to clinch their second title in SW19. They also won in 2006.
